Deep in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California, a Gold Rush settlement boomed and withered with changing fortune. Today, the remaining residents fight to keep their community, and their memory, alive. Shot on Super 16mm, hovering between document and dream, Refusing to Ghost is a portrait of a rural town’s struggle for survival in the American West.
